Mothers Against Drunk Driving has the mission to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking. Your donation will go a long way in continuing to support MADD’s life saving work. With your help we can together make our streets and highways safer, and keep victim assistance and education programs funded.
Donor’s Gifts Allow MADD to further the mission of Eliminating Drunk Driving
A personal experience involving DUI is often is the motivation for joining MADD and giving to the organization. Due to their very unique experiences with DUI they give MADD has three signature events, The Walk like MADD, the California Hero Awards, and our annual Candle light vigil. Each of these events brings awareness to the crime of DUI as well as an opportunity for the community to give back and support MADD programs.
The Walk like MADD is a community 5K walk where teams are made up of corporations, law enforcement and family’s who raise money and then celebrate their success on Walk Day. Currently there are six Walk like MADD’s in California. Visit Walk like MADD to find one in your neighborhood.
Part of MADD’s campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving is total support of Law Enforcement. At the California Hero Awards, the top DUI arresting officer in California is honored for his or her efforts in combating the violent crime of driving under the influence. National and Local sponsors contribute to this event to honor our heroes.
The California State Candle Light Vigil remembers those who were taken from us because of DUI. This remembrance includes a ceremony honoring the memory of loved ones as we renew our efforts to eliminate drunk driving. Our prayer is that each death is the last death from this preventable crime. MADD is also supported by individual and community group fundraisers. We are supported with community events that donate the proceeds to MADD. Our creative partners develop all sorts of innovated ideas to bring awareness and raise funds. Tributes and Memorial Gifts Donations in tribute or memory of a loved one in loo of gifts or flowers are a respectable way for the giver to show admiration. Each tribute or memorial given includes a beautiful card sent to the recipient or the family as well as an acknowledgment to the giver.
